Taring advantages of drama therapy in individuals

The first part of the bachelor's thesis deals with the mental retardation, determination, classification and etiology. It is emphasising importance of the education of the child with light mental disability, which is possible to be used in form of the therapeutic-formative intervention. The second part of the bachelor's thesis deals with the area of drama therapy that describes the therapeutic-formative approach. It refers to possibilities of application of the drama therapeutic techniques and exercises in area of treatment of the children with mild mental disablement. The third part of the bachelor's thesis focuses on the proposal of the drama therapeutic programme, which main contribution is development of the verbal and nonverbal communication abilities. There is a presentation of ten lessons of the drama therapy programme with focus on the prevention of problems in the communication.
Assessment of the "New speaking" method in the treatment of stuttering

Name: Assessment of the "New speaking" method in the treatment of stuttering Objectives: Stuttering is a serious speech disorder where the consequences can significantly handicap individuals. Except the common logopedic care, there are also different alternative methods, including group therapy with the name "New speaking". The purpose of this bachelor thesis is to evaluate the effect of this method from the perspective of two graduates. Methods: The main used method was exploratory (interview). Two subjects (female - 26 years old and male - 19 years old) participated in the case study. The interview consisted of fourteen questions. Results: Based on the analysis of the interviews it is possible to state that the "New Speech" method is working when the rules are followed. Absolvents perceive a subjectively significant improvement of speech with social and psychological consequences. Improvement in the social area can be supported by the fact that subjects are able to speak under all conditions and also that they perceive increase of job possibilities. The psychological improvement was less visible. It is suggested to work on their self-confidence and hardiness. Key words: speech disorder, stuttering, group therapy
Speech therapy intervention from the perspective of parents of children with speech disorder

The bachelor thesis "Speech therapy intervention from the perspective of parents of children with speech disorder" is focused on the issue of speech therapy intervention which is provided to children with speech disorder in the perspective of two periods - before the outbreak of pandemic COVID-19 (before March 2020), and during this pandemic (until the summer of 2021). The thesis offers an overview of basic terminology, definition of the profession of speech therapist and the work placement, speech therapy intervention and its changes during the pandemic. The empirical part of the thesis provides a documentation of the original research focused on providing the speech therapy intervention and its changes during pandemic, reported from the perspective of parents of children with speech disorder. For these purposes, a quantitative research design and a questionnaire survey were employed. The statements of the respondents, parents of children with speech disorder (n = 55), were processed using descriptive and inference statistics. The results show, e.g., a decrease in the reported speech therapy progress during the pandemic, and positive relationship between the reported level of cooperation of the child with the speech therapist and the child's speech therapy progress. Forced laterality changes in childhood and their influence on the overall development of personality

The diploma thesis deals with laterality, the research presents analysis of laterality of six adult people with forced changes in laterality. Then it describes the development of laterality and its types, degrees, types and diagnostics. There is also a historical approach to the left-hand side from the Stone Age to the present. The work focuses on forced changes in laterality in childhood and their influence on the overall development of personality. Six adult respondents, three men and three women aged thirty- eight to seventy-two years were tested for qualitative research. The effects of laterality change were observed in speech, psyche, state of laterality, reading and written speech. The aim of the work was to describe the difficulties that may arise as a result of a forced change in laterality, to find out whether the respondents have to face and to discover their possible survival to adulthood. For all respondents, the laterality and type determined by the test was tested, which was a partial goal. For all respondents, during the interviews, problems related to forced changes in laterality in childhood were manifested or discussed.

Current approaches in the speech therapy for children with Down syndrome

The thesis discusses the specific therapeutic methods and techniques that can be used in the context of speech therapy for children with Down syndrome who suffer from symptomatic speech disorder. The thesis includes the complete terminological definition of Down syndrome etiology, diagnosis and detailed elaboration of the therapeutic methods. It also includes complementary therapies that contribute to the overall development of the child's communication skills. The main objective of the thesis is to analyze the speech therapy. It may be an inspiration for speech therapists, parents, teachers in kindergartens and primary schools who take care of children with Down syndrome and want to contribute to improvement of communication skills of the children. The thesis can be a starting point for further scientific work that deals with similar issues.
